About Us

We’ve been helping homeowners update and improve their spaces for over 30 years. What started as a custom cabinet business built by Jim Barker, Heather’s dad, grew through word of mouth and strong relationships with customers. No big advertising, just good, honest work.

Today, Heather carries that forward with the same mindset. We focus mainly on kitchen and bath remodels, but we also handle cabinet installation, tile backsplashes, tile flooring, and LVP flooring. Whether you just need cabinets or want help with the whole project, we’ve got you covered.

One thing our customers really appreciate is that they don’t have to juggle a bunch of different contractors. We work with a group of trusted people and can help manage all parts of the job, making the process a whole lot easier on you. We work in Hendricks County and the surrounding areas, and sometimes even a little farther out depending on the project.

Heather is hands-on and takes a lot of pride in the work. At the end of the day, the job isn’t done until it meets her standards and you’re happy with it. And as a nice finishing touch, we can even have a professional cleaner come in so your new space is ready to enjoy right away.

We love what we do, we enjoy meeting new people, and there’s nothing better than seeing a space come together and knowing we helped make it happen.

Our History

This business goes back to 1993, when Jim Barker first started building cabinets. At the time, he was working for GM/Rolls Royce, but woodworking had always been something he loved. That passion started even earlier with his own dad. Heather still has some of her grandpa’s original wood projects to this day.

What began as a side craft quickly turned into something more. Jim built a strong reputation for quality work and honest relationships, and the business grew the old-fashioned way; through word of mouth and repeat customers. Many of those relationships are still going strong today, with some clients coming back again and again for multiple projects over the years.

As time went on, the business naturally evolved. It expanded from custom woodworking into offering cabinet sales and full remodel support, giving customers more options while keeping that same personal touch. One thing that never changed was the approach; no upselling, just working with people to find what fits their home and their budget.

Heather stepped in to take over the business when her dad was ready to slow down, and she’s been carrying it forward ever since. After his passing, she updated the name to C.H. Cabinet Sales to better reflect what the business offers today, while still keeping a piece of its original identity.

These days, the business may look a little different, but the heart behind it is the same. Heather continues to focus on quality work, honest communication, and building relationships with her customers. It’s still a family effort too. Her daughter even jumps in to help when needed.

Looking ahead, Heather is excited to keep growing, expand her network of trusted contractors, and continue serving homeowners throughout the area just like her dad did all those years ago.
